Chika’s Sesame Paste
Chika created this recipe herself as an alternative to peanut butter which is expensive on Ogasawara Island. Incredibly easy to make with ingredients most people will already have, this sesame paste is delicious as a spread on anything and best of all it’s very healthy!
Begin by lightly toasting the sesame seeds.
Then grind the sesame seeds.
The only other ingredients are vegetable oil, soy sauce and sugar. Brown sugar is the best.
Mix it all together till it makes a paste. There are no exact measurements for this recipe, as it is up the cook to decide how salty, oily and sweet and even how much the seeds are ground.
This one is not as paste like but still delicious!
