Amber Fort, Jaipur

The Amber Fort in Jaipur, was one of the few places in India where the entry fee was worth it. The fort seemed never ending, consisting of a maze of rooms, tiny and grand. There seemed to be no sense in the plan as we walked through it, but it would have been an even more fascinating place to visit when it was still occupied and in use.

Amber Fort.

Detail stairs in the central courtyard.

One of the grander entries to the palace within.

A maze of a plan.

An intricately decorated roof with mirror inlaid.

A Mughal garden within the fort.

Workmen were restoring the fort, but here they were taking a rest.
