The Government in Dehli

The view looking out towards a large park which leads to India Gate.

When Tom and I were catching the metro to the Lotus Temple we got off a bit earlier to go in search of some chai tea. Instead, what we found was the Indian Government. It felt like walking onto a film set, there were hardly any cars or people, lots of police with guns and large wide open spaces. The smog of Dehli just added to its dreamlike appearance.

The view looking towards the Head of State Residence with government buildings on either side.

We also found India’s equivalent to Buckingham Palace, or otherwise known as The Official Residence of the Head of State.

The official residence.

The following photos are of the government buildings. The style is European but some of the details as well as the impressive stone make the buildings uniquely Indian.
